Corrections Policy

Last updated: June 2026

THINCK is committed to accurate journalism. When we make mistakes, we correct them promptly, transparently, and in a way that helps readers understand what changed and why.

Our Commitment to Accuracy

We take factual accuracy seriously. Our editorial process requires that claims are verified before publication. When an error does occur, we treat the correction as part of our editorial accountability — not as an embarrassment to be minimised.

Types of Corrections

Significant factual errors

If a material fact in a story is wrong — a name, a date, a figure, a quote, a sequence of events — we will:

  • Correct the error in the article body
  • Add a clearly visible correction notice at the top or bottom of the article stating what was incorrect and what the correct information is
  • Include the date the correction was made

Minor corrections

Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and typographical issues may be corrected silently without a formal correction notice, unless the error could have misled readers.

Updates to developing stories

When new information becomes available after a story is published, we may update the article. If the update materially changes the substance of what was originally reported, we will note the update at the top of the article with the date.

Retractions

In rare cases where an article cannot be corrected — for example, if a story was based on fabricated information or could not be verified after publication — we may retract it. Retracted articles will carry a clear retraction notice in place of the original content. We do not silently delete published articles.

How to Request a Correction

If you believe something we have published contains a factual error, please contact us at editorial@thinck.org with the following:

  • The URL of the article
  • The specific text you believe is incorrect
  • What you believe the correct information to be
  • Any supporting sources or evidence

We aim to acknowledge correction requests within two business days. Complex corrections involving legal or third-party considerations may take longer.

Opinion Content

Corrections apply to factual claims in opinion and commentary pieces just as they do in news articles. However, we do not correct a contributor's expressed opinion or interpretation — only factual errors within those pieces.
