ഒരിക്കൽ അദ്ദേഹം നിർമ്മിച്ച കാസനോവ സിനിമയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുണ്ടായ ഒരു തർക്കത്തിൽ സംവിധായകനോടും കഥാകൃത്തിനോടും കോപിച്ച റോയ് , തന്റെ ബെംഗളൂരുവിലെ റിസോർട്ടിൽ വെച്ച് ചെടിച്ചട്ടിയിലേക്ക് മൂത്രമൊഴിക്കുകയും സ്വന്തം തോക്കെടുത്ത് ആ മൂത്രത്തിലേക്ക് നാല് റൌണ്ട് വെടി വെക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു . എന്നിട്ട് തോക്കിന്റെ കുഴൽ ഭാഗത്ത് ഊതിക്കൊണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞു ' ഇതെന്താണെന്നറിയാമോ , ഇതാണ് തോക്ക് ' .

ഈ സംഭവമായിരുന്നു പിന്നീട് ഇവിടം സ്വർഗമാണ് എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ലാലു അലക്സിന്റെ ആലുവ ചാണ്ടി എന്ന റിയൽ എസ്റ്റേറ്റ് മുതലാളി കഥാപാത്രം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത് . നിസ്സാര ഈഗോയുടെ പേരിലായിരുന്നു റോയ് സ്വയം തോക്കിനാൽ ജീവൻ അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞത് .

പ്രതിസന്ധികളിലെ അതിജീവനം: തുറന്നുപറച്ചിലുകളും ഒത്തുചേരലുകളുമാണ് പരിഹാരം

The incident where Sugathan (67), who had been living as an expatriate in Ras Al Khaimah for over forty years, and his wife Latha (60) were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their home in Anjumukku, Kadakkal, Kollam, Kerala, has plunged the entire expatriate community into deep grief. The couple was found dead inside their house just hours before their scheduled return journey to the UAE. The police's preliminary conclusion is that financial crisis and business failure during the COVID-19 period had severely affected the family. Sugathan was found hanging, while Latha was found dead on the bed. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident, suspecting either suicide or suicide after homicide. The couple met their tragic end, leaving behind two children who reside in the UAE.

The Tragedy of Kapal Joy: Deceptions and the Tragic End at Business Bay

The most painful suicide in the UAE was that of our 'Kapal' Joy. Joy, who belonged to Wayanad and used to do only good things for people, committed suicide during the peak of COVID-19 by jumping from the top of a building in Business Bay, after being betrayed by his foreign national partner. It was a drama created by the partner for his own personal gain when certain fuel transactions Joy conducted with a foreign country and glitches in the Sharjah refinery project were called into question. To ruin the company and take it over for himself, the partner intimidated Joy and created a narrative that could even lead to his arrest. The weak-hearted Joy then jumped from the building and died right in front of his own son.

'Arakkal Palace' and Social Media: The Evil Eye of Excessive Luxury Displays

That was not the only mistake Joy made. In 2019, he built one of the largest houses Kerala has ever seen, named 'Arakkal Palace' in Mananthavady, and publicized it heavily on social media. A fact that must always be kept in mind in Kerala is that anyone can build a house as big and beautiful as they want. But it should never be given away for promotion on television channels or social media. It is a reality that many big shots have fallen from their businesses or high positions either while the house construction was underway or right after the housewarming. A house is a dream for any poor person. That is why, when building large houses, people hang boards in front that say, 'Hey, evil eye, what are you looking at?' In the case of Tamilians, they hang a large ash gourd or pumpkin along with some charcoal pieces.

Similarly, another suicide that shocked us recently was that of Dr. C. J. Roy, also known as 'Confident Roy', who shot himself dead in Bengaluru. Roy, who lived in the luxurious residential complex of Emirates Hills in Dubai, used to constantly flaunt his luxury cars, mansions, and resorts to the public. Initially appearing on social media to present his business-related matters, Roy later shifted away from that and used social media solely to broadcast the grandeur of his house, cars, and children to the public. Roy pushed through life shaking up Dubai and Bengaluru with Bugatti trips and Rolls-Royce parades alongside his wife and children.

Victim of Ego: Movie-like Disputes and Playing with Guns

Even so, the reason behind his suicide still remains a mystery. Kerala was literally shocked to its core when a man who used to play with guns was wiped out by a gun itself. Once, during a dispute related to the movie Casanovva which he produced, an angered Roy, furious at the director and the scriptwriter, urinated into a flower pot at his resort in Bengaluru, took his own gun, and fired four rounds into that urine. Then, blowing on the barrel of the gun, he said, 'Do you know what this is? This is a gun.' This very incident was later portrayed in the movie Evidam Swargamanu through Lalu Alex's character 'Aluva Chandy', a real estate tycoon. It was over a trivial ego that Roy ended his own life with a gun.

There is no understanding why these people end such a beautiful life on their own. Financial difficulties are, after all, problems that can be solved with a few days of effort. When they throw away their lives after reaching such fame, the bitter experiences that their family members and children have to endure for the rest of their lives are no small matter. It is true that in the context of the current war situation, many companies are facing difficulties. The hardships caused when cargo movements do not take place are tougher than we expected. When such a situation arises, one should explain matters to friends and loved ones to find solutions. Instead, it is wise not to engage in acts that take one's own life.
