സാമൂഹിക പ്രതിബദ്ധതയുള്ള സന്ദേശം
വാഴ 2 കണ്ടു : കേരളത്തിന് മറ്റൊരു സന്ദേശമാണ് വാഴ 2 . ഇന്നത്തെ ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ വഴിതെറ്റുന്ന യുവത്വത്തിന് വളരെ പച്ചയായി നൽകുന്ന ഒരു ഉപദേശമാണ് ഈ സിനിമ . ഏറ്റവും ശ്രദ്ധേയമായത് കേരളത്തിൽ ഇന്ന് തകർന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ രീതികളും അതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട മയക്കുമരുന്നുപയോഗവും വളരെ തന്മയത്വത്തോടെ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു . തോറ്റാലും ജയിച്ചാലും ജോലി കിട്ടുക എന്നത് എളുപ്പമല്ല എന്നത് ഇപ്പോൾ നമ്മുടെ അനുഭവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ഗതികേടാണ് .
അഭിനയപ്രതിഭകളുടെ പ്രകടനം
പുതുമുഖങ്ങളാണ് നായകന്മാരെങ്കിലും, നമ്മുടെ അയൽപക്കത്തെ പയ്യന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അങ്ങേയറ്റം സ്വാഭാവികമായാണ് അവർ പെരുമാറുന്നത്. മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ വേഷം ചെയ്തവരുടെ പ്രകടനം അസാമാന്യമാണ്. നായികമാർക്ക് വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമില്ലെങ്കിലും ലഭിച്ച വേഷങ്ങൾ അവർ ഭംഗിയാക്കി. 'അയ്യപ്പനും കോശിയിലെയും' പോലീസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥനെപ്പോലെ ഈ സിനിമയിലെ ഇൻസ്പെക്ടറും തന്റെ പ്രകടനം കൊണ്ട് സിനിമയെ മുന്നോട്ട് നയിക്കുന്നു.
പ്രവാസ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ പച്ചയായ യാഥാർത്ഥ്യങ്ങൾ
ആദ്യപകുതി പാട്ടും കൂത്തും അല്ലറ ചില്ലറ അടിപിടികളുമായി ഒക്കെ പോയെങ്കിലും ഇടവേള കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഓരോരുത്തരായി ജോലി തേടി യുഎഇയിലെ ഫുജൈറയിലും യുകെയിലെ ജോർജ്ജിയയിലും ഒക്കെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ലേശം നേരം ബോറടിപ്പിച്ചോ എന്ന സംശയം ഇല്ലാതില്ല . കുറ്റമായി കണ്ടെത്തിയത് യുകെയിൽ വെള്ളക്കാരന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കുതിരകളെ നോക്കുന്ന പയ്യനെ ഏത് നേരത്തും വെള്ളക്കാരൻ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും അച്ഛൻ നാട്ടിൽ മരിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ അടുത്തു വന്ന് ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നി . പക്ഷെ അവൻ പനിപിടിച്ചു വിറച്ചപ്പോൾഒരു പനഡോളോ , അതുപോലെയുള്ള മരുന്നോ അവന് കൊടുക്കാത്തത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലായില്ല. അകലെയുള്ള കൂട്ടുകാരൻ മരുന്ന്വേറൊരു മലയാളിയിൽ നിന്നും വാങ്ങി കൊടുത്തത് വരെ ലേശം നീണ്ടുപോയോ എന്ന സംശയം ഇല്ലാതില്ല . അതുപോലെ ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തും സിഡിയിൽ വീഡിയോ കാണുന്ന പിള്ളേർ ഉണ്ടോ എന്നതും ലേശം സംശയങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇടനൽകി . അവസാനഭാഗങ്ങൾ വേണേൽ ലേശം എഡിറ്റ് ചെയ്ത് ചുരുക്കമായിരുന്നു
രാഷ്ട്രീയവും സാമൂഹിക നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങളും
അയ്യപ്പനും കോശിയിലെയും പോലീസ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ വിലസിയതുപോലെ ഇവിടെയും പോലീസ് ഇൻസ്പെക്ടർ സിനിമ കയ്യിലെടുത്തു .സ്കൂളിനടുത്തുള്ള മയക്കുമരുന്ന് കച്ചവടക്കാരനെ പോലീസ് പൊക്കിയെങ്കിലും അവനെ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ജയിലിൽ ഇട്ടില്ല എന്നതും സംശയം .ഈയിടെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട രഞ്ജിത്തിന്റെ തട്ടുപൊളിപ്പൻ സിനിമകളിൽ ഒന്നടങ്കം കേരളത്തിലെ യുവാക്കളെ വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുവാനുള്ള തിരക്കഥ ആയിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഈ സിനിമ ഇന്നത്തെ കാലഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ആവശ്യമാണ് . യുകെയും യൂറോപ്പും സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു ജീവിക്കുന്ന ചെറുപ്പക്കാർ ഈ സിനിമയോടെ ആ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ പേരുകൾ തന്നെ മനപ്പൂർവം മറന്നേക്കും .
കാലഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ സിനിമ
വേണമെങ്കിൽ ഫോട്ടഗ്രാഫി ഒന്നുകൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാമായിരുന്നു . ഈ സിനിമ ഒരാഴ്ച മുൻപേ ഇറങ്ങിയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ യുഡിഎഫിന് ലേശം ഗുണം ചെയ്തേനെ എന്ന് തോന്നിപ്പോയി . യുവാക്കൾ പഠിക്കാനും തൊഴിലന്വേഷിച്ചു വിദേശങ്ങളിൽ പോകാനുമുള്ള സാഹചര്യങ്ങൾ ഒഴിവാക്കുമെന്ന് യുഡിഎഫ് പലതവണയായി കേരളത്തിൽ പറയുന്നുണ്ട് . എന്തായാലും മലയാളി ഈ സിനിമ തീർച്ചയായും നെഞ്ചിലേറ്റും എന്നതിൽ തർക്കമില്ല . ഇതുപോലെയുള്ള സിനിമകൾ ഇന്നത്തെ സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ഒരു ആവശ്യകത കൂടിയാണ് . വിഷുവിന് പടക്കം പൊട്ടിക്കുമ്പോൾ പേടിച്ചു വീണ ആ ചേട്ടനെയും പപ്പടത്തിനായി തല്ലുണ്ടാക്കിയ ആലപ്പുഴയിലെ ആ കല്യാണവും മൂത്രപ്പുരയിലെ എഴുത്തുകളും ആരും മറക്കില്ല !!

A Raw Message for the Youth
Vazha 2 is more than just a movie; it is a message to Kerala. In this day and age, where the youth are increasingly losing their way, this film offers a raw and honest piece of advice. What is most striking is how naturally it portrays the collapsing education system in Kerala and the associated rise in drug abuse. It highlights our current pathetic reality: whether you pass or fail, securing a job is an uphill battle.
Powerhouse Performances by Fresh Faces
Even though the lead actors are newcomers, those who played their parents handled their roles extraordinarily well. None of the boys looked like debutants; they felt like the relatable kids we see in our own neighborhoods. While the female leads didn’t have much prominence, they performed their parts beautifully. I walked into the theater feeling drowsy from the pre-show advertisements, but once the film started, it didn't give me a single moment to think about sleep.
The Transition to Exile
The first half moved along with songs, fun, and minor scuffles. However, in the second half, as the characters migrated in search of work to places like Fujairah in the UAE and Georgia in the UK, there was a slight feeling of boredom.
I found a few flaws in the UK segment. While I appreciated the contrast between the boy being mistreated by his white employer while tending horses and the moment of comfort he received when his father passed away back home, some parts felt stretched. For instance, when he was shivering with fever, it was hard to understand why he wasn't given a Panadol or basic medicine. The sequence where a distant friend had to source medicine from another Malayali felt a bit too long. Additionally, seeing kids still watching videos on CDs in this day and age raised some doubts about the timeline's accuracy.
The Law and Social Impact
Much like the police inspector who dominated the screen in Ayyappanum Koshiyum, the inspector in this film takes full control of the narrative. However, it remains a mystery why the drug peddler caught near the school wasn't sent to jail.
In contrast to the commercial potboilers of someone like Ranjith (who was recently arrested), which some feel were scripts designed to mislead Kerala's youth, this movie is a necessity for the current times. Young people who live dreaming of the UK and Europe might intentionally choose to forget those names after watching this film.
Political Undertones and Final Thoughts
The cinematography could have been a bit more polished. I also felt that if this movie had been released a week earlier, it might have benefited the UDF politically, as they have repeatedly promised to create conditions where youth wouldn't feel forced to migrate for studies or work.
Regardless, there is no doubt that Malayalis will take this film to their hearts. Movies like this are a requirement in today's social climate. No one will forget the hilarious references to the man who fell during the Vishu crackers, the famous Alappuzha wedding brawl over papadums, or the "restroom writings."
