അധികാരത്തിന്റെ 'കണ്ണൂർ മോഡൽ':
രാഷ്ട്രീയവും കേരളവും കൈപ്പിടിയിലൊതുക്കുന്ന കരുത്തർ!
കേരളത്തിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഭൂപടം പരിശോധിച്ചാൽ ഒരു കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാണ്; അധികാരം എവിടെയുണ്ടോ അവിടെയൊരു കണ്ണൂരുകാരനുണ്ടാകും. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിപദം മുതൽ പാർട്ടി അധ്യക്ഷസ്ഥാനം വരെ നീളുന്ന അധികാരശ്രേണിയിൽ കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലക്കാർ എന്നും മുൻനിരയിലുണ്ട്. വെറുമൊരു യാദൃശ്ചികത എന്നതിലുപരി, ലക്ഷ്യബോധത്തോടെയുള്ള നീക്കങ്ങളും വിട്ടുവീഴ്ചയില്ലാത്ത പോരാട്ടവീര്യവുമാണ് ഇവരെ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്. കണ്ണൂർ കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അധികാരം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവർ ആലപ്പുഴക്കാരാണ് എന്നതും കേരളത്തിൽ നാം അനുഭവിച്ചു . മൂന്ന് തവണകളിലായി ഇ കെ നായനാർ 11 കൊല്ലവും നാല് തവണകളിലായി കെ കരുണാകരൻ 8 വർഷവും രണ്ടു തവണകളിലായി പിണറായി വിജയൻ 10 വർഷവും കേരളം കയ്യടക്കിയിരുന്നു .
മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി കസേരയിലെ കണ്ണൂർ സാന്നിധ്യം
കേരളം കണ്ട കരുത്തനായ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി കെ. കരുണാകരൻ കണ്ണൂരിന്റെ മണ്ണിൽ നിന്ന് വളർന്നുവന്ന നേതാവായിരുന്നു. ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തേക്ക് നോക്കിയാൽ, ഇ.കെ. നായനാർ എന്ന ജനകീയനായ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ വാഴിക്കാൻ കെ.ആർ. ഗൗരിയമ്മയെയും വി.എസ്. അച്യുതാനന്ദനെയും പോലുള്ള മുതിർന്ന നേതാക്കളെ വെട്ടിനിരത്തിയത് ചരിത്രം. പിന്നീട് പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ കാലഘട്ടമെത്തിയപ്പോഴും വി.എസ്സിനെപ്പോലൊരു അതികായനെ തളച്ചിട്ടുകൊണ്ട് ഭരണം ഉറപ്പിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് സാധിച്ചു. നിലവിൽ പിണറായി വിജയനും പാർട്ടി സെക്രട്ടറി എം.വി. ഗോവിന്ദനും ചേർന്ന് കേരളം ഭരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ സെക്രട്ടറി സ്ഥാനത്തും കണ്ണൂരുകാരൻ തന്നെ ഇരിക്കുന്നത് ഈ 'കണ്ണൂർ ലോബി'യുടെ സ്വാധീനമുറപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ കെപിസിസി പ്രസിഡണ്ട് സണ്ണിയും കണ്ണൂരിൽ നിന്ന് തന്നെ .
പാർട്ടി തലപ്പത്തെ ആധിപത്യം
സി.പി.എമ്മിൽ ചടയൻ ഗോവിന്ദനും കോടിയേരി ബാലകൃഷ്ണനും സെക്രട്ടറിമാരായി തിളങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ, കോൺഗ്രസിൽ കെ. സുധാകരൻ കെ.പി.സി.സി പ്രസിഡന്റായി . മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകാനും ആഗ്രഹമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു . എ.ഐ.സി.സി ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയായ കെ.സി. വേണുഗോപാലും തന്റെ കണ്ണൂർ വേരുകൾ മറക്കാതെ കേരളത്തിലെ ഭരണസാരഥ്യത്തിനായി കരുനീക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ബി.ജെ.പിയിലേക്ക് നോക്കിയാൽ കെ. സുരേന്ദ്രൻ, സി.കെ. പത്മനാഭൻ, പി.കെ. കൃഷ്ണദാസ് എന്നിവരും പാർട്ടി തലപ്പത്ത് കണ്ണൂരിന്റെ പ്രാതിനിധ്യം ഉറപ്പിച്ചു. മൂന്ന് പാർട്ടികൾ മാറി ഒടുവിൽ ബി.ജെ.പി ദേശീയ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റായ എ.പി. അബ്ദുള്ളക്കുട്ടിയും കണ്ണൂരിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ മെയ്വഴക്കത്തിന് ഉദാഹരണമാണ്.
കച്ചവടവും പ്രവാസവും: വിട്ടുവീഴ്ചയില്ലാത്ത മുന്നേറ്റം
രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിൽ മാത്രമല്ല, കച്ചവടരംഗത്തും കണ്ണൂരുകാർ ഒന്നാമതാണ്. മുംബൈയിലോ ഡൽഹിയിലോ ഗൾഫിലോ ആകട്ടെ, മറ്റ് ജില്ലക്കാർ പരസ്പരമുള്ള കുതികാൽവെട്ടുകളിൽ സമയം കളയുമ്പോൾ കണ്ണൂരുകാരൻ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലേക്ക് മാത്രം നോക്കി മുന്നേറും. ഏത് പ്രതിസന്ധിയിലും തളരാതെ തങ്ങൾക്കാവശ്യമുള്ള ഇരിപ്പിടം സ്വന്തമാക്കാൻ അവർക്ക് പ്രത്യേക കഴിവുണ്ട്. ബിസിനസ് രംഗത്തെ അതികായന്മാരായ പലരും കണ്ണൂർ പാരമ്പര്യം അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നവരാണ്.
അടവുകളും തന്ത്രങ്ങളും
ലക്ഷ്യം മാർഗ്ഗത്തെ സാധൂകരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന തത്വത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരാണ് കണ്ണൂരുകാർ എന്ന് പലപ്പോഴും വിമർശകർ പറയാറുണ്ട്. അധികാരത്തിൽ എത്തുവാൻ ഏത് അടവും പയറ്റുന്നവരും ഏതൊരു വലിയ പ്രതിയോഗിയെയും രാഷ്ട്രീയമായി തളയ്ക്കാൻ ശേഷിയുള്ളവരുമാണ് ഇവർ. ഐക്യവും ഒരേ ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലേക്കുള്ള പ്രയാണവുമാണ് ഇവരെ മറ്റ് ജില്ലക്കാരിൽ നിന്ന് വേറിട്ടു നിർത്തുന്നത്.
കെട്ടിയിറക്കപ്പെടുന്ന കണ്ണൂരുകാർ
ഇപ്പോൾ കേരളത്തിൽ അങ്ങനെയുള്ള കളികൾ മനസ്സിലായി തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോഴാണ് പിണറായി വിജയനെ തൂത്തെറിയാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചത് .കോൺഗ്രസ്സുകാർ ഏറ്റവുമധികം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന കെ സുധാകരനെ ആ കോൺഗ്രസ്സുകാർ തന്നെ വെറുക്കുവാനും കാരണമായത് ആ അധികാര മോഹം തന്നെയാണ് . അതുപോലെ അധികാരമോഹവുമായി ആരൊക്കെ കേരളത്തിൽ കടന്നുവന്നാലും ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും മലയാളി അംഗീകരിക്കണമെന്നില്ല . മറ്റുള്ള നേതാക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അസ്വസ്ഥത കോരിയിട്ട് അതിന്നിടയിലേക്ക് കോംപ്രമൈസുമായി വന്നുകൊണ്ട് അധികാരം സൂത്രത്തിൽ പിടിക്കുവാനുള്ള തന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ആരൊക്കെ കളിയ്ക്കാൻ നോക്കിയാലും ഇനിയുള്ള അണികൾ കയ്യും കെട്ടി നോക്കിയിരിക്കില്ല . എതിർക്കുക തന്നെ ചെയ്യും എന്നാണ് പൊതുവായ ജനാഭിപ്രായം .
ആയതിനാൽ പൊതുജനാഭിപ്രായത്തിൽ കാര്യങ്ങൾ തീരുമാനിക്കുക , ആരായാലും , കണ്ണൂരുകാരൻ ആയാലും ആലപ്പുഴക്കാരൻ ആയാലും !!

From the Chief Minister’s chair to the presidency of major political parties, people from Kannur have consistently occupied the frontlines of the power hierarchy. More than a mere coincidence, it is their strategic calculations and uncompromising fighting spirit that define their dominance. Historically, after Kannur, it is the people of Alappuzha who have shown a similar penchant for power in Kerala.
Kannur’s Dominance in the Chief Minister’s Chair
K. Karunakaran, one of Kerala's most powerful Chief Ministers, rose from the soil of Kannur. On the Left, history shows how veteran leaders like K.R. Gauri Amma and V.S. Achuthanandan were sidelined to install the popular E.K. Nayanar. Later, during Pinarayi Vijayan's era, he consolidated his rule by effectively neutralizing a titan like V.S. Achuthanandan. Currently, as Pinarayi Vijayan and Party Secretary M.V. Govindan helm the state, the presence of a Kannur native as the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary further cements the influence of this 'Kannur Lobby.'
Hegemony in Party Leadership
While Chadayan Govindan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan shone as Secretaries in the CPI(M), K. Sudhakaran rose to the position of KPCC President in the Congress, even harboring aspirations for the Chief Ministry. K.C. Venugopal, an AICC General Secretary, continues to pull strings for Kerala’s leadership without forgetting his Kannur roots. In the BJP, leaders like K. Surendran, C.K. Padmanabhan, and P.K. Krishna Das have ensured Kannur’s representation at the top. Even A.P. Abdullakutty, who migrated through three different parties to become a BJP National Vice President, exemplifies the political dexterity of Kannur.
Trade and Diaspora: An Uncompromising Advance
The people of Kannur excel not just in politics but also in the world of commerce. Whether in Mumbai, Delhi, or the Gulf, while others might waste time in internal bickering, those from Kannur move forward with a singular focus on their goals. They possess a unique ability to secure their seat at the table without faltering, regardless of the crisis. Many giants in the business world proudly claim a Kannur heritage.
Tactics and Strategies
Critics often say that those from Kannur believe "the end justifies the means." They are known to employ any tactic to reach power and possess the political acumen to tether even the most formidable opponents. Their unity and collective march toward a common goal set them apart from people of other districts.
The Resistance Against 'Imported' Power
Today, as these maneuvers become transparent, there is a growing sentiment to sweep away Pinarayi Vijayan’s style of governance. Even K. Sudhakaran, once a favorite among Congressmen, has faced resentment from within his own party due to perceived power hunger.
The public mood suggests that Keralites may no longer accept anyone who enters the fray solely out of an obsession with power. The strategy of sowing seeds of unrest among other leaders and then stepping in as a 'compromise candidate' to snatch power will no longer go unchallenged by the grassroots. The general consensus is to resist. Therefore, decisions must be based on public opinion—regardless of whether the leader hails from Kannur or Alappuzha!
