പഴയകാല ഗ്രൂപ്പ് പോരുകളും തിരിച്ചടികളും
യുഡിഎഫ് ഭരണം ഏതാണ്ടൊക്കെ ഉറപ്പിച്ച അവസ്ഥയിൽ കോൺഗ്രസ്സിലെ നേതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അതിപ്രസരം മുൻ കാലങ്ങളിലെ പോലെ തന്നെ വീണ്ടും തലപൊക്കുന്നു . പകുതി പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ അവരായിട്ടും അവരുടെ കൂടെ നിൽക്കുന്നവരായിട്ടും പടച്ചു വിടുമ്പോൾ ബാക്കി പകുതി മാധ്യമങ്ങളും പൊക്കി വിടുന്നു . 1991ലെ ഭരണം കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ സുധീരനെ മന്ത്രിയാക്കണം എന്ന വാശിയിൽ കരുണാകരനുമായി തെറ്റിയ ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടി മന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം രാജിവെച്ചത് ഓർമ്മിക്കുന്നു . 2001 ലെ ഭരണം കിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ അന്ന് തന്നെ തെന്നല ബാലകൃഷ്ണപിള്ളയെ മാറ്റിനിർത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് കെ മുരളീധരനെ കെപിസിസി പ്രസിഡണ്ടാക്കിയതും ആരും മറന്നിട്ടില്ല . 2011 ലെ ഭരണത്തിൽ എങ്ങനെയെങ്കിലും ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടിയെ കൊണ്ട് രാജിവെപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തല മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകാനും ഓടിനടന്നു . നടക്കില്ലെന്ന് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ആഭ്യന്തരവകുപ്പ് വാങ്ങിയെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതും നാം കണ്ടു . ഇതൊന്നും കേരളത്തിൽ ആരും മറന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്നതാണ് ഇവരൊക്കെ മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടത് .
പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ 'ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ' പദവിയും പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വീഴ്ചയും
ചരിത്രത്തിലാദ്യമായി ഇടതിന് തുടർഭരണം ലഭിക്കാനിടയായത് 2016 ലാണ് . കേരളത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം ഏറ്റവുമധികം കൊള്ളയും , കള്ളക്കടത്തും , അഴിമതികളും വീണുകിട്ടിയിട്ടും അവസരോചിതമായി അതിനെ വിനിയോഗിക്കാൻ ആവാതെ തുടർഭരണം കൊടുത്തതിൽ മുഖ്യ പങ്കുവഹിച്ചതിൽ കോൺഗ്രസ്സിന്റെയും യുഡിഎഫിന്റെയും കഴിവുകേട് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെയാണ് . ആ സ്വർണ്ണക്കടത്ത് വിഷയത്തെ മാത്രം നല്ലരീതിയിൽ വിനിയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ വളരെ എളുപ്പത്തിൽ പിടിച്ചെടുക്കാമായിരുന്ന ഭരണത്തെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കിയത് ഓരോരോ ആഴ്ചകളിലും അന്നത്തെ പ്രതിപക്ഷം കൊണ്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന അഴിമതി ആരോപണ കഥകളായിരുന്നു . ഒരൊറ്റ വിഷയത്തിലും അവർ അന്ന് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്താതെ എല്ലാം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയുടെ ഓഫീസിനും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരുടെ പേരിലും ശിവശങ്കറിന്റെ പേരിലും ആരോപിച്ചപ്പോൾ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ ക്യാപ്റ്റനായി മാറുകയായിരുന്നു .
മുൻകാല നേതാക്കളുടെ പ്രവർത്തന ശൈലിയും തന്ത്രങ്ങളും
കരുണാകരൻ - ആന്റണി - ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടി എന്നിവർ പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാക്കളായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അന്നത്തെ ഭരണപക്ഷങ്ങൾക്കെതിരായി ഓരോരോ വിവാദങ്ങൾ വരുമ്പോഴും അവയൊക്കെ അവയൊക്കെ ജനങ്ങളിൽ എത്തിച്ചിരുന്നത് ഓരോരോ നേതാക്കളെ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തിയായിരുന്നു . കരുണാകരൻ ഓരോരോ വിഷയങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ച് ടി എം ജേക്കബിനെയും , ബാലകൃഷ്ണ പിള്ളയെയും , കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടിയെയും , ടി എച്ച് മുസ്തഫയെയും പോലുള്ളവരെ കൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു പത്രസമ്മേളനങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയിരുന്നത് . എകെ ആന്റണിയും അതുപോലെതന്നെ സുധീരനെയും ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടിയെയും കെ എം മാണിയെയും പോലെയുള്ളവരെയാണ് ചുമതലപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്നത് . ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടി വന്നപ്പോൾ ആര്യാടൻ മുഹമ്മദിനെയും കെസി ജോസഫിനെയും കുഞ്ഞാലിക്കുട്ടിയെയും മാണിയെയും ഒക്കെയാണ് കാര്യങ്ങൾ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നത് . ലോട്ടറി വിഷയം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുവാൻ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചത് വിഡി സതീശനെയായിരുന്നു . 2011 ഭരണത്തിലെത്താൻ അതും ഒരു കാരണമായിരുന്നു .
രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തലയുടെ കാലത്തെ അഴിമതി ആരോപണങ്ങളും വിനിയോഗവും
രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തല പ്രതിപക്ഷത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ വീണു കിട്ടിയതുപോലെ അഴിമതി ആരോപണങ്ങൾ വേറെ ആർക്കും കിട്ടിയിട്ടില്ല . പിണറായി ഭരണത്തിൽ കയറി മൂന്നാമത്തെ മാസം മുതൽ അഞ്ചുകൊല്ലം തികക്കുന്നതുവരെ മാസാമാസം ഓരോരോ വൻ അഴിമതികളാണ് രമേശിന് കിട്ടിയിരുന്നത് . സ്വർണ്ണ-ഡോളർ - ബിരിയാണിച്ചെമ്പ് - ഖുർആൻ - ഈത്തപ്പഴം ഒന്നും കൂടാതെ സ്പ്രിങ്ക്ലർ , കരിമണൽ , കടൽക്കൊള്ള , ലൈഫ്മിഷൻ , പിഎസ്സി , ബന്ധു നിയമനങ്ങൾ , വോട്ടർപട്ടിക വിവാദം , സഹകരണബാങ്ക് മുതലായ ഒട്ടേറെ വിഷയങ്ങൾ വരിവരിയായി വീണു കിട്ടിയിട്ടും എല്ലാം പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാവ് തന്നെ കഥ - തിരക്കഥ - സംഭാഷണം - സംവിധാനം എന്ന രീതിയിൽ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ ജനങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ വിശ്വാസ്യത നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു . കടൽ വിഷയങ്ങൾ പ്രതാപനെക്കൊണ്ടും , വോട്ടർ പട്ടിക വിഷയങ്ങൾ കെ സുധാകരനെ കൊണ്ടും , സ്പ്രിംഗ്ലർ - ഡാറ്റാ വിഷയങ്ങൾ വിഡി സതീശനെ കൊണ്ടും ഒക്കെയായിരുന്നു കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യിക്കേണ്ടിയിരുന്നത് .
യുഡിഎഫിന്റെ തിരിച്ചുവരവും ഐക്യത്തിന്റെ കരുത്തും
ഇന്നിപ്പോൾ യുഡിഎഫിന് മേൽക്കൈ വരുവാൻ കാരണമായത് പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവിന്റെയും യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസിന്റെയും കെഎസ്യുവിന്റെയും യുവാക്കളായ നേതാക്കളുടെയും ലീഗിന്റെയും ഒത്തൊരുമിച്ചുള്ള മുന്നേറ്റങ്ങൾ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു . മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ കുത്തിത്തിരുപ്പുമായി വരുന്നത് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാക്കളെല്ലാം ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി അവർക്ക് പിടികൊടുക്കാതെ മുന്നോട്ട് നീങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അണികളിൽ ആത്മവിശ്വാസം ഇരട്ടിയായി . എന്നാലും പുതുപ്പള്ളി ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന് ശേഷം നാം കണ്ട പത്രസമ്മേളന വിവാദവും , നിലമ്പൂർ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിന് ശേഷം നടന്ന മേജർ - ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ വിവാദങ്ങളും അണികളെ അസ്വസ്ഥരാക്കിയിരുന്നു . 24 മണിക്കൂറിനുള്ളിൽ സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥികളെ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കും എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും അതിന് അവസരം കൊടുക്കാതെ കെ സുധാകരനെ കൊണ്ട് അനാവശ്യ വിവാദങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയപ്പോഴും ഉറപ്പുള്ള പതിനഞ്ചോളം മണ്ഡലങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പഴകുളം മധുമാരെ കുത്തിനിറച്ചപ്പോഴും അണികളിലെ വീര്യം നശിച്ചിരുന്നു .
ഹൈക്കമാൻഡ് നേതാക്കളുടെ ഇടപെടലുകളും വ്യക്തിപൂജയും
അതുപോലെ കെസി യെപോലെ ഉന്നതിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നേതാവ് കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രാദേശിക പത്രക്കാരുമായി ഇടപെഴകുവാൻ അവസരം ഉണ്ടാക്കി കൊടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ആ നേതാവിനോടുള്ള അണികളുടെ മതിപ്പ് കുറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നതായി കാണുന്നു . സാധാരണ റിപ്പോർട്ടർമാരുടെ അനാവശ്യ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് നിന്ന് കൊടുക്കാതെ ഡൽഹിയിലും തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് നടക്കുന്ന മറ്റുള്ള സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലും വെറുതെങ്കിലും കറങ്ങി നടന്ന് തല കാണിച്ചാൽ അദ്ദേഹത്തിനോടുള്ള ബഹുമാനം കൂടുകയേ ഉള്ളൂ . കെ സുധാകരനെ പോലെ ഒരാൾ കെ സിക്ക് വേണ്ടി എഴുതുമ്പോൾ കെസിയുടെ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ള നിലവാരം കുറയുന്നു എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കേണ്ടത് കെ സി യാണ് . മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആകുമെന്ന് കാണുമ്പോൾ കുറെയധികം ഇത്തിക്കണ്ണികൾ പിന്നാലെ കൂടുകയും വ്യക്തി പൂജയും പുകഴ്ത്തലുകളും കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ അവരൊക്കെ സ്വയം മതിമറന്നു പോകുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നൊരു സംശയവും ഇല്ലാതില്ല . അതിപ്പോൾ വിഡി ആയാലും രമേശ് ആയാലും ഇപ്പോൾ കുറെ വാലുകൾ കാര്യസാധ്യത്തിനായി എട്ടുകാലി മമ്മുഞ്ഞികളായി കൂടെ കൂടുവാൻ സാധ്യത കാണുന്നു .
യുഡിഎഫ് അനുകൂല തരംഗത്തിന് പിന്നിലെ കാരണങ്ങൾ
എന്നിരുന്നാലും പിണറായി വിജയനോടുള്ള ശക്തമായ എതിർപ്പും യൂത്ത് കോൺഗ്രസുകാരെ തല്ലിച്ചതച്ച പോലീസുകാരോടുള്ള പ്രതികാരവും പരസ്യങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് മലയാളിയുടെ തലച്ചോറിനെ മാറ്റിമറിക്കാം എന്ന് കണക്കുകൂട്ടിയ നികേഷിനോടും റിപ്പോർട്ടർ - ന്യൂസ് 18 - മാതൃഭൂമി ചാനലുകളോടും സോഷ്യൽ മീഡിയയിൽ തള്ളിക്കയറ്റിയ യൂട്യൂബർ മാരോടും ഫേക്ക് ഐഡി പ്രൊഫൈൽ കരോടുമുള്ള വാശിയാണ് ഈ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ യുഡിഎഫ് അനുകൂല തരംഗം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുവാൻ കാരണമായത് . അവയെല്ലാം ഏകോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിൽ പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവിന്റെ പങ്കും അണികളിൽ ആവേശം പടർത്തിയിരുന്നു . ഒപ്പം തന്നെ 18 എംപിമാരുടെ ശക്തമായ സ്വാധീനവും , യുഡിഎഫിലെ യുവ നേതാക്കളുടെ വീറും വാശിയും കെഎസ്യു വിന്റെ പേരിൽ ഒട്ടേറെ യുവതീ യുവാക്കളുടെ രംഗപ്രവേശവും ഇടതിന്റെ ആത്മവീര്യം കെടുത്തുവാൻ സഹായകമായി അവരുടെയൊക്കെ കടന്നുവരവിന് സഹായകമായത് പാർട്ടിയുടെ കെട്ടുറപ്പ് കണ്ടിട്ടും പ്രതിപക്ഷനേതാവിന്റെ നിലപാടുകളും ദീർഘവീക്ഷണവും ഒക്കെ കണ്ടിട്ടായിരുന്നു .
വരാനിരിക്കുന്ന പരീക്ഷകൾ; നേതാക്കൾക്കുള്ള ജാഗ്രതാനിർദ്ദേശം
ആയതിനാൽ ആ ആവേശം കെടുത്തുവാൻ ഒരു നേതാവും മുതിരരുത് . നേതാക്കളുടെ വക്കാലത്ത് പിടിച്ചുനടക്കുന്ന ഒരു യുവനേതാവും വലിയ നേതാവും അനാവശ്യ വിവാദങ്ങൾ ഒഴിവാക്കണം . ശത്രുക്കൾ ഇപ്പോഴും തക്കം പാർത്തിരിക്കുകയാണ് എന്നോർമ്മ എല്ലാവരിലും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. ഇത് കഴിഞ്ഞാലും തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പുകൾ വരുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നോർമ്മ എല്ലാവരിലും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത് നല്ലതാണ് .

Historical Group Feuds and Their Backlash
With a UDF victory looking almost certain, the over-dominance of Congress leaders is resurfacing just like in previous times. While they and their supporters manufacture half the problems, the media blows the other half out of proportion. We remember Oommen Chandy resigning from his ministerial post in 1991 out of stubbornness to make Sudheeran a minister, which led to a rift with Karunakaran. No one has forgotten how, after the 2001 victory, K. Muraleedharan was made KPCC President by sidelining Thennala Balakrishna Pillai. We also saw how, during the 2011 administration, Ramesh Chennithala ran pillar to post to somehow make Oommen Chandy resign so he could become Chief Minister. When he realized that wouldn't work, we saw him taking over the Home Ministry. These leaders must understand that the people of Kerala have not forgotten any of this.
The Rise of the 'Captain' and the Opposition's Failure
It was in 2016 that the Left secured a consecutive term for the first time in history. Regarding Kerala, despite being gifted with massive instances of looting, smuggling, and corruption, it was primarily the incompetence of the Congress and the UDF that failed to utilize these opportunities, leading to the LDF’s second term. If the gold smuggling issue alone had been utilized effectively, a government that could have been easily unseated was instead saved by the "scam-of-the-week" stories brought forward by the then-Opposition. By failing to blame the Chief Minister directly and instead attributing everything to the CM's office, officials, and M. Sivasankar, the Chief Minister was allowed to transform into a "Captain" among the masses.
The Strategy of Past Leaders and Task Delegation
When Karunakaran, Antony, and Oommen Chandy served as Opposition Leaders, they utilized different leaders to bring various controversies against the then-ruling fronts to the public. Karunakaran used to hold press conferences through people like T.M. Jacob, Balakrishna Pillai, Kunhalikutty, and T.H. Mustafa depending on the subject. Similarly, A.K. Antony entrusted responsibilities to the likes of Sudheeran, Oommen Chandy, and K.M. Mani. When Oommen Chandy took the lead, he assigned matters to Aryadan Mohammed, K.C. Joseph, Kunhalikutty, and Mani. The responsibility of handling the lottery issue was given to V.D. Satheesan, which was a significant reason for reaching power in 2011.
Ramesh Chennithala's Handling of Corruption Allegations
No other Opposition Leader has received as many corruption allegations on a silver platter as Ramesh Chennithala did. From the third month of Pinarayi’s first term until the completion of five years, Ramesh received major scandals every month. Apart from Gold, Dollar, Biryani vessel, Quran, and Dates, issues like Sprinkler, Mineral Sand, Deep-sea fishing, Life Mission, PSC, back-door appointments, voter list controversies, and Co-operative Bank scams fell into his lap one after another. However, when the Opposition Leader himself handled everything in a "story-screenplay-dialogue-direction" fashion, he lost credibility among the people. The fishing issues should have been handled by Prathapan, voter list issues by K. Sudhakaran, and Sprinkler/Data issues by V.D. Satheesan.
UDF's Resurgence and the Strength of Unity
The current upper hand for the UDF is the result of the united movement of the Opposition Leader, Youth Congress, KSU, young leaders, and the Muslim League. When the media tried to incite divisions, the opposition leaders moved forward together without falling into their traps, which doubled the confidence of the cadres. Nevertheless, the press conference controversy seen after the Puthuppally by-election and the "Major-Captain" controversies after Nilambur had disturbed the cadres. Even after promising to announce candidates within 24 hours, the spirit of the cadres was dampened when K. Sudhakaran was allowed to create unnecessary controversies and when people like Pazhakulam Madhu were pushed into fifteen "sure-win" constituencies.
High-Command Leaders and the Trap of Sycophancy
Similarly, when a high-ranking leader like K.C. Venugopal is made to interact with local reporters in Kerala, the respect cadres have for him diminishes. Instead of standing for unnecessary questions from ordinary reporters, his respect would only increase if he spent time in Delhi or other election-bound states, even if just to show his presence. K.C. Venugopal must realize that when someone like K. Sudhakaran writes on his behalf, his current stature is lowered. There is a suspicion that when leaders see a chance of becoming Chief Minister, they lose themselves in the sycophancy and "individual worship" of the "parasites" who flock behind them. Be it V.D. Satheesan or Ramesh Chennithala, there is a possibility of many "tails" joining them as "Ettukali Mammunjis" (self-important claim-takers) for personal gains.
Factors Behind the UDF Wave
Regardless, the pro-UDF wave in this election was created by a strong resentment against Pinarayi Vijayan, revenge against the policemen who thrashed Youth Congress workers, and defiance against those like Nikesh who thought ads could manipulate the Malayali brain—as well as channels like Reporter, News 18, Mathrubhumi, and the YouTubers and fake profiles pushed onto social media. The Opposition Leader’s role in coordinating all this also energized the cadres. Along with that, the strong influence of the 18 MPs, the vigor of young UDF leaders, and the entry of many young men and women under the banner of KSU helped break the morale of the Left. Their entry was facilitated by seeing the party’s stability and the stances and vision of the Opposition Leader.
Future Challenges: A Warning to Leaders
Therefore, no leader should venture to dampen that enthusiasm. No young leader or senior leader acting as a proxy for others should create unnecessary controversies. Everyone must remember that the enemies are still waiting for an opportunity. It is good for everyone to remember that more elections are coming after this. Let it not be a case of "the Banyan fruit ripening just when the crow has a sore mouth" (missing a golden opportunity at the last moment).
Political Hopes and Requests
With the hope that the tradition of the Opposition Leader becoming the Chief Minister continues—Porali Dasan. With the request that if not the Chief Minister, he should at least become the KPCC President—Porali Vijayan.
