കേരളം വീണ്ടും ജാതി-മത കോമ്പ്രമൈസ് രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിലേക്കോ?
ജനവിധി വ്യക്തമായിരുന്നു, രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിന്റെ ഭാഷ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് മാറുന്നു?
കേരളം ഈ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ ഒരു വലിയ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സന്ദേശമാണ് നൽകിയത്. ജാതിയും മതവും നോക്കിയല്ല ജനങ്ങൾ വോട്ട് ചെയ്തത്. സ്ഥാനാർത്ഥികളുടെ സമുദായ പശ്ചാത്തലമല്ല, അവരുടെ വ്യക്തിത്വം, നിലപാട്, പൊതുപ്രവർത്തനം, വിശ്വാസ്യത എന്നിവയാണ് ജനങ്ങൾ വിലയിരുത്തിയത്.
അതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഉദാഹരണമാണ് തവനൂർ പോലെയുള്ള മുസ്ലിം ഭൂരിപക്ഷ മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ വി.എസ് ജോയിയെ മത്സരിപ്പിച്ച് യു.ഡി.എഫ് നേടിയ മിന്നും വിജയം. അത് ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രീയ വിജയം മാത്രമല്ല, കേരളസമൂഹത്തിന്റെ മാനസിക വളർച്ചയുടെ തെളിവുമായിരുന്നു.
അങ്ങനെ ജാതി-മത ചട്ടക്കൂടുകൾ തകർത്ത് ജനങ്ങൾ മുന്നോട്ട് പോയപ്പോൾ, മന്ത്രിസഭ രൂപീകരണ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ വീണ്ടും “ജാതി സമവാക്യങ്ങൾ”, “ജില്ലാ ബാലൻസ്”, “സമുദായ പ്രതിനിധിത്വം” എന്നീ പഴയ ഫോർമുലകൾ തിരികെ വരുന്നത് ജനങ്ങളിൽ ആശങ്കയുണ്ടാക്കുകയാണ്.
ജനങ്ങൾ ചോദിക്കുന്നത് വളരെ ലളിതമായ ഒരു ചോദ്യമാണ്:
കേരളത്തിന് വേണ്ടത് കഴിവുള്ള മന്ത്രിമാരാണോ, അതോ സമുദായങ്ങളുടെ ക്വോട്ട പ്രതിനിധികളോ?
മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആഭ്യന്തരം കൈവശം വെക്കേണ്ടത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?
കേരളത്തിലെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചരിത്രം പരിശോധിച്ചാൽ ഒരു കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാണ്. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി തന്നെ ആഭ്യന്തരവും വിജിലൻസും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തപ്പോഴാണ് ഭരണത്തിന് വ്യക്തമായ നിയന്ത്രണവും രാഷ്ട്രീയ ഭാരവുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്.
അല്ലാതെ അധികാര കേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ വിഭജിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി എന്ന പദവി പോലും ദുർബലമാകുന്ന അവസ്ഥയാണ് പലപ്പോഴും ഉണ്ടായത്.
ഉമ്മൻചാണ്ടിയുടെ ഭരണകാലം അതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഉദാഹരണമാണ്. അദ്ദേഹം നേരിട്ട രാഷ്ട്രീയ ആക്രമണങ്ങളും ആഭ്യന്തര സംവിധാനങ്ങളിലെ നിയന്ത്രണക്കുറവും ഇന്നും രാഷ്ട്രീയ പഠനവിഷയമാണ്.
അതിനാൽ തന്നെ ഇന്നും ജനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള ആശങ്ക ഒരേ ഒന്നാണ്:
മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആഭ്യന്തരം കൈവിടുന്ന ഒരു സാഹചര്യം വീണ്ടും അസ്ഥിരതയിലേക്കോ രാഷ്ട്രീയ വേട്ടയാടലിലേക്കോ നയിക്കുമോ?
കേരളത്തിന് ഇന്ന് ആവശ്യം ഒരു “അഴകൊഴമ്പൻ കോമ്പ്രമൈസ് ഭരണ”മല്ല. സ്പഷ്ടമായ അധികാരവും ഉത്തരവാദിത്തവുമുള്ള ശക്തമായ ഭരണമാണ്.
മന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം ജാതിക്ക് വേണ്ടിയാണോ, ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് വേണ്ടിയാണോ?
ഇന്ന് പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ചില മന്ത്രിപേരുകൾ കേട്ട് വോട്ട് ചെയ്ത പലരും തന്നെ നിരാശ പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്.
ജനങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഉയരുന്ന വിമർശനം കടുത്തതാണ്:
“ജനങ്ങൾ മാറ്റം ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു വോട്ട് ചെയ്തു. പിന്നെ എന്തിനാണ് വീണ്ടും പഴയ സമവാക്യ രാഷ്ട്രീയം?”
കേരളത്തിൽ കഴിവുള്ള എത്രയോ എം.എൽ.എമാർ വിജയിച്ചെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസവും കാഴ്ചപ്പാടും പൊതുബോധവുമുള്ള പുതിയ തലമുറ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തകർ ഇന്നുണ്ട്.
എന്നാൽ അതെല്ലാം മാറ്റിനിർത്തി ജാതി-ജില്ലാ സമവാക്യങ്ങളിൽ മന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം നിശ്ചയിക്കുമ്പോൾ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് അത് അംഗീകരിക്കാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണ്.
പെട്ടി തൂക്കി നടന്നവരെയോ, ഗ്രൂപ്പ് വിശ്വസ്തത മാത്രം കൈവശമുള്ളവരെയോ മന്ത്രിയാക്കുന്നതിൽ എന്ത് രാഷ്ട്രീയ പുരോഗതിയാണ് ഉള്ളത്?
ഇത് ചോദിക്കുന്നത് പ്രതിപക്ഷമല്ല. ഈ സർക്കാരിന് വോട്ട് ചെയ്ത യുവജനത തന്നെയാണ്.
യുവത്വം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത് പുതിയ കേരള രാഷ്ട്രീയമാണ്
ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിലെ യുവാക്കൾ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിലേക്ക് വീണ്ടും ആകർഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. അവർക്ക് വേണ്ടത് പഴയ ജാതി-മത കോമ്പ്രമൈസ് രാഷ്ട്രീയം അല്ല.
അവർ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്:
- വ്യക്തമായ നിലപാടുള്ള നേതാക്കളെ..
- കാര്യക്ഷമരായ മന്ത്രിമാരെ..
- അഴിമതിക്കെതിരെ ശക്തമായ ഭരണത്തെ..
- മത-ജാതി സമ്മർദ്ദങ്ങളിൽ വീഴാത്ത രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെ..
കേരളം ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏറ്റവും രാഷ്ട്രീയ ബോധമുള്ള സമൂഹങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ്. ഇവിടെ എല്ലാവർക്കും മതമുണ്ട്, രാഷ്ട്രീയവുമുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങൾ തമ്മിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നത് സൗഹാർദ്ദത്തോടെയാണ്.
പ്രശ്നം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നത് ചില സ്വാർത്ഥ രാഷ്ട്രീയ-മത ശക്തികളാണ്. സ്വന്തം സ്വാധീനവും അധികാരവും നിലനിർത്താൻ സമൂഹത്തെ വീണ്ടും വിഭാഗങ്ങളാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നവരാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ അപകടം.
മന്ത്രിസഭയിൽ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ചില മുഖങ്ങൾ
വി.ടി ബൽറാം, നജീബ് കാന്തപുരം, സനീഷ് കുമാർ, റോജി എം ജോൺ, ജെനീഷ് പോലുള്ളവർ മന്ത്രിയായാൽ അത് ഒരു പുതിയ തലമുറ രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിന്റെ സന്ദേശമായേനെ.
അവർക്കെല്ലാം പൊതുസമൂഹവുമായി സംവദിക്കാനുള്ള കഴിവും വ്യക്തമായ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ബോധവുമുണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ അവരെ മാറ്റിനിർത്തി പഴയ ജാതി-ജില്ലാ ഫോർമുലകൾ മുൻനിർത്തുമ്പോൾ അത് നിരാശയുണ്ടാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
അതേസമയം രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തിൽ യാഥാർത്ഥ്യങ്ങളും സമ്മർദ്ദങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടെന്നത് സത്യമാണ്. എല്ലാ വിഭാഗങ്ങളെയും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളേണ്ട ആവശ്യകതയും രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടികൾക്ക് ഉണ്ടാകും.
പക്ഷെ അതിന്റെ പേരിൽ ജനവിധിയുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ തന്നെ തകർക്കരുത്.
ഈ ജനവിധിയെ ആരും തെറ്റായി വായിക്കരുത്
ഈ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ കേരളം പറഞ്ഞത് വളരെ വ്യക്തമായ ഒരു സന്ദേശമാണ്:
“ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വികസനവും വ്യക്തതയുമുള്ള ഭരണമാണ് വേണ്ടത്. ജാതി-മത കച്ചവട രാഷ്ട്രീയമല്ല.”
ആ ജനവിധിയെ അവഗണിച്ചാൽ അതിന്റെ തിരിച്ചടി ഭാവിയിൽ അതിലും ശക്തമായി പ്രതിഫലിക്കും.
കേരളം മാറുകയാണ്. ജനങ്ങളും മാറുകയാണ്. രാഷ്ട്രീയം കൂടി മാറേണ്ട സമയമാണിത്.
അല്ലാതെ “നിങ്ങൾക്കിത്ര, ഞങ്ങൾക്കിത്ര” എന്ന പഴയ പങ്കുവെപ്പ് രാഷ്ട്രീയവുമായി മുന്നോട്ട് പോകാൻ ഇനി കേരളം തയ്യാറാകില്ല.
അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്കും പുതിയ മന്ത്രിസഭയ്ക്കും ഒരേയൊരു സന്ദേശം:
ഒട്ടേറെ യുവാക്കളെ തെരുവിലിട്ട് മർദ്ദിച്ചും , കള്ളക്കേസുകളിൽ കുടുക്കിയും നടന്നുപോന്ന കഴിഞ്ഞ ഭരണകൂട വേട്ടയാടലുകൾക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നൽകിയവർ പല രൂപത്തിലും ഭാവത്തിലും പല ബന്ധങ്ങളുമായി പുതിയ മന്ത്രിമാരെ സമീപിച്ചേക്കാം . ആ ചെറുപ്പക്കാരുടെ മനസ്സ് വേദനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു നടപടികളും മന്ത്രിമാരുടെ ഭാഗത്ത് നിന്നും ഉണ്ടാകരുതെന്ന് അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു .
ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കുമ്പോഴും ബോർഡ് ചെയർമാൻ , മെമ്പർമാർ എന്നിവരെ നിശ്ചയിക്കുമ്പോഴും അര്ഹതയുള്ളവർക്ക് മാത്രം അംഗീകാരം നൽകുക . മന്ത്രിമാരുടെ പേർസണൽ സ്റ്റാഫിൽ അനാവശ്യ ആളുകളെ തിരുകിക്കയറ്റാതെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക ..
ജനങ്ങൾ നൽകിയ ഈ അവസരം ജാതി-മത കോമ്പ്രമൈസുകളുടെ ഇരയാക്കരുത്. കേരളം അതിനേക്കാൾ മുന്നിലാണ്.

The Public Verdict Was Clear — Why Is Politics Changing Its Language Again?
This election delivered a powerful political message in Kerala. People did not vote based on caste or religion. They evaluated candidates on credibility, personality, public service, political clarity, and integrity.
The biggest example of this was the stunning victory of the UDF in a Muslim-majority constituency like Thavanur by fielding V.S. Joy. That was not merely an electoral victory — it was proof of Kerala society’s political maturity.
When the public moved beyond caste and religious calculations, why is the political system once again returning to old formulas like “community balance,” “district equations,” and “caste representation” during cabinet formation?
The public is asking a very simple question:
Does Kerala need capable ministers, or quota representatives for communities?
Why Should the Chief Minister Retain the Home and Vigilance Departments?
Kerala’s political history makes one thing very clear. Whenever the Chief Minister directly controlled the Home and Vigilance departments, governance carried authority, accountability, and stability.
But when power centers became fragmented, the authority of the Chief Minister itself weakened.
The tenure of Oommen Chandy remains one of the strongest examples. The political attacks and administrative vulnerabilities he faced continue to be discussed even today.
That is why many people fear one thing:
If the Chief Minister does not directly handle the Home Department, will Kerala once again witness political instability and internal power struggles?
What Kerala needs today is not a weak compromise administration. It needs a strong government with clarity, responsibility, and decisive leadership.
Are Ministerial Positions Meant for Society or for Public Service?
Many voters themselves are expressing disappointment after hearing some of the names being considered for ministerial posts.
The criticism emerging among the public is sharp:
“People voted for change. Why is the same old equation politics returning again?”
Kerala has elected many highly capable MLAs in this election. There are leaders with education, vision, administrative understanding, and public acceptance.
But when all of that is ignored in favor of caste and district calculations, people naturally feel betrayed.
What progress is achieved by appointing individuals whose only qualification is group loyalty or political carrying work?
This question is not being raised by the opposition alone. It is being asked by the very youth who voted for this government.
Kerala’s Youth Wants a New Political Culture
Today, young people in Kerala are becoming increasingly interested in politics again. But they are not attracted to outdated compromise politics built around caste and religion.
What they want is:
- Leaders with clarity and conviction
- Efficient and accountable ministers
- Strong governance against corruption
- Politics free from communal and caste pressure
Kerala remains one of the most politically aware societies in India. People here may have different religions and ideologies, but ordinary citizens coexist peacefully.
The real danger comes from selfish political and religious power centers that try to divide society again for their own influence and survival.
Kerala has already witnessed the bitter consequences of such politics many times before.
Faces the Public Expected to See in the Cabinet
Leaders like V.T. Balram, Najeeb Kanthapuram, Sanish Kumar, and Roji M. John would have symbolized a modern political generation if included in the cabinet.
They possess communication skills, political awareness, and the ability to connect with contemporary society.
Ignoring such leaders while returning to traditional caste-district balancing formulas naturally creates disappointment among the public.
At the same time, politics does involve realities and pressures. Governments often try to accommodate different sections of society.
But in doing so, they should not destroy the very spirit of the public mandate.
Nobody Should Misread This Public Verdict
This election delivered a very clear message from Kerala:
“We want governance with vision and efficiency — not transactional caste and religion-based politics.”
If that message is ignored, the political consequences in the future could be even stronger.
Kerala is changing. Its people are changing. Its politics must change too.
The old politics of “this share for you and that share for us” cannot survive forever in a society that has politically evolved.
That is why the message to the Chief Minister and the new cabinet is simple:
Many individuals who led the previous regime’s political witch-hunts — including brutally assaulting young people on the streets and trapping them in false cases — may now attempt to approach the new ministers in different forms, through various connections and influences. It is important that no action from the ministers’ side should further hurt or humiliate those young people who already suffered deeply during those years.
While appointing officials, board chairpersons, and members, recognition and responsibility should be given only to deserving and qualified individuals. Ministers must also remain careful not to allow unnecessary or politically imposed individuals to be pushed into their personal staff and administrative circles.
Do not sacrifice this public mandate for caste and religious compromise politics. Kerala has already moved far beyond that.
