കോൺഗ്രസ്സിലെ അസാധാരണ പ്രതിസന്ധി

സ്വാതന്ത്ര ലബ്ധിക്ക് ശേഷം കോൺഗ്രസ്സ് പാർട്ടിനേതാക്കൾ നേരിട്ട ഏറ്റവും വലിയ മാനസിക പിരിമുറുക്കങ്ങളുള്ള ദിവസങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ് കടന്നു പോയിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഏ കെ ആന്റണി പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ കാലം തൊട്ടേ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്കസേരക്കായുള്ള കടും പിടുത്തങ്ങളും വെല്ലുവിളികളും ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഇതുപോലൊരു അവസ്ഥ ആദ്യമായാണ്. എല്ലായിടത്തും രണ്ടു പ്രമുഖ നേതാക്കൾ തമ്മിലുള്ള വടംവലികൾ ആയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഇന്നിപ്പോൾ മൂനാളുകൾ രംഗത്ത് വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത് രാഹുൽഗാന്ധിയുടെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പരീക്ഷണമാണ്.

ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ റോക്കറ്റ് സയൻസിന്റെ ഒന്നും ആവശ്യമില്ലായിരുന്നു, ആ കെ സി വേണുഗോപാലിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ആർത്തി ഇല്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, ഇടയിൽ കയറിയില്ലാരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഇങ്ങനെയൊന്നും സംഭവിക്കില്ലായിരുന്നു . വോട്ട് ചെയ്തു ജയിപ്പിച്ച ഒരു കോടി ജനതയെ വെറുപ്പിക്കാൻ മാത്രം സാധിച്ചു എന്നല്ലാതെ വേറൊരു പ്രയോജനവും കെ സി, കോൺഗ്രസ്സ് പാർട്ടിക്ക് ഉണ്ടാക്കിയില്ല എന്നതാണ് ദുഖകരം.

എം എൽ എ നമ്പറുകളിൽ തട്ടിപ്പുകൾ

അതുപോലെ അന്ന് കെ പി സി സി ഓഫീസിൽ നിന്നും പുറത്തിറങ്ങുന്ന എ ഐ സി സി നിരീക്ഷകന്റെ ലിസ്റ്റ് ചോർന്നു എന്ന് വന്ന വാർത്തകൾ കെ സി ക്യാമ്പ് കെട്ടിച്ചമച്ചതായിരുന്നു . അന്നത്തെ കത്തിൽ ശക്തമായി വി ഡി ക്കൊപ്പം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ ഉദുമ എം എൽ എ നീലകണ്ഠന്റെ പേരിനു നേരെ വി ഡി എന്ന് മാർക്ക് ചെയ്യാത്തത് ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ പെട്ടിരുന്നു . ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ കണക്കുകൾ പ്രകാരം വി ഡി സതീശന് 32 എം എൽ എ മാരും കെ സി വേണുഗോപാലിന് 22 എം എൽ എ മാരും രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തലക്ക് 6 എം എൽ എ മാരും , ഹൈക്കമാൻഡിന്റെ അഭിപ്രായം പോലെ തീരുമാനിക്കാൻ 3 എം എൽ എ മാരും ആയിരുന്നു .

പക്ഷെ ബിഗ് ടി വി പോലുള്ള മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ 42 ഉം 46 ഉം എം എൽ എ മാരുടെ പേരുകൾ ഉയർത്തി കാണിച്ചത് വെറും തട്ടിപ്പുകളായിരുന്നു . ദീപ ദാസ് മുൻഷി , കെ സി വേണുഗോപാലിന് വേണ്ടി എം എൽ എ മാരുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽ നോക്കി പേടിപ്പിച്ചില്ലായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ വി ഡി സതീശന് 42 പേരുടെ പിന്തുണ കിട്ടിയിരുന്നേനെ . ഇതെല്ലം എ ഐ സി സി ക്ക് ബോധ്യപ്പെട്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞു . കെ സി യുടെ വാതിലുകൾ അടയുന്നതിന് ഇതും ഒരു കാരണമായേക്കാം .

രാഹുൽ ഗാന്ധിയുടെ അപ്രതീക്ഷിത തീരുമാനങ്ങൾ

ഇനിയിപ്പോൾ കേരളത്തിലെ ഈ മൂന്നുപേരുകളെ മാറ്റി നിർത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് ഒരു വനിതാ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ രാഹുൽഗാന്ധി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചാൽ ഒട്ടും അത്ഭുതം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതില്ല. നരേന്ദ്രമോഡി ഗുജറാത്ത് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിസ്ഥാനം ഒഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ആരുമറിയാതിരുന്ന ആനന്ദി ബെൻ പട്ടേലിനെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ആക്കിയതുപോലെ രാഹുൽഗാന്ധി ആരുടെയെങ്കിലും പേരുകൾ നിർദേശിച്ചാൽ രണ്ടുകയ്യും നീട്ടി സ്വീകരിക്കുയെ നിർവാഹമുള്ളൂ. ഖാർഗെയുടെ വീട്ടിലെ ചർച്ചകൾക്കൊടുവിൽ ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന മൂന്നു പേരുടെയും മുഖത്ത് ദുഖവും വിഷമവും ദേഷ്യവും തളം കെട്ടി നിന്നിരുന്നു.

ഈ പ്രശ്നമൊന്നും ഇത്രേം വഷളാക്കേണ്ട യാതൊരു കാര്യവുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. ഏകദേശം എൺപത്തിയഞ്ചിന് മേലെ സീറ്റുകൾ കിട്ടുമെന്ന് ഉറപ്പാക്കിയ സ്ഥിതിക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞു കിട്ടിയ ആ ഇരുപത്തിയഞ്ചോളം ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു നല്ല ഫോർമുല കണ്ടെത്താമായിരുന്നു. ഇതിപ്പോൾ ഇത്രേം വലിയ ഒരു വിജയം കിട്ടിയിട്ടും ഒരു നല്ല ആഹ്ലാദപ്രകടനങ്ങൾ വരെ നടത്തുവാൻ അണികൾക്കും മെനക്കെട്ടവർക്കും സാധിച്ചില്ല എന്നത് ദുഖകരമാണ്. പഞ്ചായത്ത് തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കിട്ടിയ ആ ആവേശമൊന്നും നിയമസഭാ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിൽ എവിടെയും കണ്ടില്ല.

Antony remarked, though there have been stubborn demands and challenges for the Chief Minister's chair since Gandhiji's time, a situation like this is a first. While it used to be a tug-of-war between two prominent leaders everywhere, the fact that three people have now entered the fray is the biggest test in Rahul Gandhi's life. There was no need for "rocket science" in this matter, if only K.C. Venugopal's political greed hadn't intervened. It is tragic that K.C. brought no benefit to the Congress party other than managing to alienate the ten million people who voted them to victory.

Fraud in MLA Counts

Similarly, the news reports claiming that the list was leaked from the AICC observers as they were leaving the KPCC office were fabricated by the KC camp. It was notable that even though Uduma MLA Neelakandan’s letter strongly supported VD, his name was not marked in favor of VD in that list. According to the current figures, VD Satheesan has the support of 32 MLAs, KC Venugopal has 22, Ramesh Chennithala has 6, and 3 MLAs have left the decision to the High Command.

However, the figures shown by media outlets like Big TV, claiming 42 or 46 MLAs, were mere scams. Had Deepa Dasmunsi not intimidated the MLAs with piercing glares on behalf of KC Venugopal, VD Satheesan would have secured the support of 42 members. If Rahul Gandhi announces a woman Chief Minister by setting aside these three names from Kerala, it shouldn't come as a surprise at all. Just as Narendra Modi made the then-unknown Anandiben Patel the Chief Minister when he vacated the Gujarat CM post, if Rahul Gandhi suggests someone's name, there will be no choice but to accept it with both hands. At the end of the discussions at Kharge’s house, sorrow, distress, and anger were written all over the faces of the three leaders who emerged. K.C. Venugopal’s face and demeanor looked like someone caught stealing coconuts from a neighbor’s property. After Deepa Dasmunsi, V.D. Satheesan addressed the press, and K.C. spoke only after that. Since it was certain that they would secure over eighty-five seats, a good formula could have been found during the twenty-five days following the election. It is sad that despite such a massive victory, the workers and those who toiled for it couldn't even organize a proper victory celebration. The enthusiasm seen after the Panchayat elections was nowhere to be found in this Assembly election. He must realize that the primary reason for this is K.C. Venugopal's excessive greed. K.C. seems to believe in the philosophy of "after me, the deluge." What is being done now is equivalent to challenging the people of Kerala. One only needs to look at the pathetic defeat of T.N. Prathapan, a staunch K.C. loyalist and a state leader of political greed, as an example.

Rifts in the High Command and K.C. Venugopal

At the center, Mallikarjun Kharge is deeply dissatisfied with K.C. He had wished to become the Chief Minister during the last Karnataka state elections. Otherwise, the chance would have gone to D.K. Shivakumar. But Siddaramaiah was installed during K.C.'s "good times." As far as Priyanka Gandhi is concerned, she is in deep resentment over K.C. using her to sideline Amarinder Singh in the Punjab elections, the issue of taking money from candidates in Haryana, and the protests she faced from genuine Congressmen at the airport when candidates were selected in Bihar after allegedly taking money. Sonia Gandhi is someone who values the words of A.K. Antony, V.M. Sudheeran, Shashi Tharoor, and Panakkad Sadiq Ali Thangal. All of them have expressed opinions in favor of V.D. Satheesan. Evidence has reached Delhi of the mischief being played to distance Christians and Hindus from V.D. Satheesan by creating a media narrative that those taking to the streets for K.C. are members of Jamaat-e-Islami, League, PDP, and SDPI, funded from the Gulf. Additionally, while spreading rumors that V.D. Satheesan went to Mangalore in a private plane to meet BJP alliance leaders, photos are emerging showing that there is hardly anyone who hasn't visited that particular house.

Serious Allegations and North Indian Failures

People are again reminding the public of the serious allegations against K.C. that were widely circulated in the North Indian media and in Kerala. Allegations that K.C. is a BJP agent and that his extreme greed for money led him to take bribes and make decisions against state units, thereby destroying Congress governments in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Chhattisgarh, are being reaffirmed. For instance, a Congressman from Haryana named Gaurav Kumar had revealed in a press conference the real reason for the defeat there. Looking at the indecencies being displayed in Kerala now, it wouldn't be surprising if anyone felt that these allegations might be true.

Public Will and Rahul Gandhi’s Decision

Rahul Gandhi has to take a very crucial decision in these coming days. The wish of every Malayali is that he does justice to the people of Kerala who rescued a crumbling party.
